Project Overview
The Jarrad Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) represents a groundbreaking step toward a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure in Palestine. Developed in collaboration with the Jerusalem District Electricity Company (JDECO), this project underscores Abaad Jordan for Construction (A.C.C.)’s expertise in delivering advanced renewable energy and storage solutions that meet international performance and safety standards.
The 6.88 MWh liquid-cooled storage system is designed to support grid stabilization, load balancing, and energy optimization — providing critical backup capabilities and enhancing the efficiency of renewable energy integration within the national grid.
Scope of Work
- Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a utility-scale battery energy storage system
- Installation of containerized lithium-ion battery units with advanced liquid cooling technology
- Integration with on-grid/off-grid operational modes for maximum flexibility and reliability
- Electrical works, including inverters, transformers, and SCADA-based control systems
- Construction of civil foundations, cable trenches, and protective enclosures
- Testing, commissioning, and performance validation in accordance with international standards
